The Lamar Educational Award Foundation
Who We Are
Established in 2000 to benefit the students of Lamar CISD, this 501©(3) non-profit organization is governed by a volunteer board of directors that includes local business and industry professionals, community leaders, and retired teachers. The foundation provides funds beyond the normal operations budget for educational programs and activities for students and staff.
What We Do
The mission of the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation (LEAF) is to provide resources that will equip teachers, enrich students, and empower communities. Since its inception in 2000, and with the support of Lamar CISD staff, local foundations, parents, community and business partners, LEAF has distributed over $5 million dollars to fund classroom grants, scholarships for both students and teachers, and district-level programming such as Staff Professional Development, Paraprofessional Scholarships, Campus Grants, Summer Camp Connect, Social Skills Camp, District Book Festival, Literacy Program, Girls on the Run, STEAM Camps, New Staff Stampede and more!
Why We Do It
The Foundation supports one of the fastest-growing districts in the state of Texas, Lamar CISD. Our goal is to provide unique resources for innovative teaching ideas, encourage all students and staff to work at their highest potential, and inspire parent and community engagement. Our goal is to equip educators to enrich students and ultimately empower our community.
