Welcome to the Herd! New Staff Stampede 2025 Recap

We were thrilled to kick off the 2025–2026 school year by welcoming over 750 new employees to Lamar CISD at our annual New Staff Stampede! Held at the beautiful Safari Texas Ranch, this high-energy, western-themed celebration brought our district’s newest team members together for an unforgettable introduction to the Lamar CISD family.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Roosevelt Nivens also delivered a powerful and heartfelt welcome, encouraging our new hires to embrace their purpose and reminding them that “every student, every day” begins with passionate educators like them.

Guests had the chance to enjoy live caricature art, capture memories at fun photo booths.

 And explore interactive vendor booths hosted by Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union, Houston Methodist Hospital–Sugar Land, Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union, and Equitable Advisors.


Another crowd favorite was our Lamar CISD Trivia Game, where attendees competed for a chance to win amazing prizes—including restaurant gift cards and gift baskets overflowing with classroom and school-year essentials—thanks to the generosity of our supportive community partners.



We are proud to welcome this talented group of educators into our district and can’t wait to see the impact they’ll make. Here’s to a joyful, compassionate, and purpose-driven school year ahead—Welcome to the Herd!
