The Lamar Educational Awards Foundation is proud to spotlight Amy Galvan, a dedicated leader and passionate advocate for students and educators, as our Board Member of the Month.

Amy serves as the Client and Community Relations Manager for Stantec Architecture and brings a strong background in marketing, relationship building, and creative thinking to her role on the LEAF Board. Her ability to connect people and ideas has made a meaningful impact on the Foundation’s work and outreach efforts.

Why She Serves

Driven by a deep desire to give back, Amy shares that her “why” is rooted in making a difference. She has always wanted to positively impact the lives of children while staying actively engaged in her community. Through her service with LEAF, she is able to do both, supporting students, empowering educators, and helping shape a brighter future for Lamar CISD.

Her Favorite Initiative Is...

Amy is especially inspired by LEAF’s teacher grant programs. One of her favorite experiences is participating in Grant Express, where she witnesses firsthand the excitement and gratitude from teachers, administrators, and students as grants are awarded. She describes these moments as filled with pure joy and a powerful reminder of the Foundation’s impact.

She believes LEAF’s greatest contribution is the message it sends, that the community believes in its students and educators. This support not only provides valuable resources but also encourages individuals to dream bigger, reach higher, and achieve more.

For Amy, the most rewarding part of serving on the board is seeing the direct impact of grants in classrooms, watching innovative ideas come to life and knowing those efforts are creating meaningful learning experiences for students.

Amy is a strong advocate for public education, believing it is the foundation of strong communities and a pathway to opportunity for all students, regardless of their background. She is proud to champion initiatives that ensure every child has access to a high quality education.

Looking Ahead

Amy hopes to see LEAF continue to grow its reach by increasing funding, expanding partnerships, and enhancing resources that support innovative teaching and student success. Her vision reflects a commitment to creating even greater opportunities for the future of Lamar CISD.

We are grateful for Amy’s leadership, passion, and dedication to making a lasting difference in our schools and community.
