Meet Lorin Pargoud, a dedicated member of the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation (LEAF) Board of Directors. Lorin is a professional with PBK, where he works in the design of educational facilities — giving him a firsthand look at how schools shape the future of our students.

A true “worker bee,” Beverly lends her time and talents to both daytime and evening events, excelling in preparation, setup, and creative planning. Her favorite LEAF program is the New Teacher/Staff initiative, which provides $100 to brand-new teachers for classroom preparation before their first paycheck—a simple but powerful gesture that fosters a lasting relationship with LEAF.
Why Lorin Serves
“As the son of a junior high school principal and a special needs teacher, I saw the extra mile my parents traveled to provide for their students,” Lorin shared. “Seeing what teachers do on a daily basis drives me to do all I can to make sure they have the tools to help position their students to become future leaders.”
His Favorite LEAF Initiative
Lorin’s favorite LEAF program is the New Teacher Stampede. “I love seeing the excitement on the faces of new teachers as they walk into Safari Texas. It’s such a warm introduction to LCISD and all the great things to come!”
Greatest Impact
He believes LEAF’s greatest impact is in funding scholarships, enrichment programs, and extracurricular activities that students might not otherwise have access to.
Fun Facts
Lorin marched in the world-famous Southern University Marching Band – The Human Jukebox!
When he’s not working or volunteering, you can find him hunting with his two younger daughters.
Why Public Education Matters
“Public education equips students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue opportunities and contribute to the workforce and society.”
Looking Ahead
"As the district continues to grow, I hope to see LEAF grow in membership so we can continue to support LCISD students and staff with even more grants and scholarships.”
We’re grateful for Lorin’s leadership, energy, and commitment to advancing LEAF’s mission of supporting the students and educators of Lamar CISD!
